Built when Deauville was founded, this is where you can see the most flat races in France, the discipline where the speed of thoroughbreds is expressed. If race meetings are organized all year long, every summer, Deauville-La Touques hosts the Meeting de Deauville Barrièrerenowned for its prestigious Group 1 races, located at the highest level of the equestrian competition scale. For a month, the world's greatest thoroughbred owners and representatives of the major French and international horse racing companies meet there.

Between mid-June and the end of October, theDeauville-Clairefontaine racecourse vibrates under the applause of the stands, on the occasion of the Meeting de Clairefontaine. What makes it unique? Its ability to host all three horse racing disciplines: flat, trotting and jumping (hurdles and steeplechase), making it the only tri-disciplinary racecourse on the Normandy coast. Every year, it hosts some twenty race meetings, three of which are emblematic: the Grand steeplechase de la Ville de Deauville, the Grande course de Haies-Guillaume d'Ornano and the Grand Prix de Clairefontaine, which closes the season every year.
