Liz Hingley

Liz Hingley is an English photographer and anthropologist whose work results from university studies and a personal artistic experience. Migrations, housing, and contemporary urban attitude are the subjects she deals with the most often through her often interdisciplinary projects. She is a resident at the Human geography Department of the University of London and visiting professor of the research scholarship of Birmingham.

Liz Hingley has published several works, including Under Gods, a story of the Soho Road (Dewi Lewis, 2010), Shanghai (Collection Portraits de Ville, éditions Be-Pôles), Home Made in Smethwick (Multistory, 2016) and Shanghai Sacred (Washington University Press, 2018). Her work has been rewarded several times (Photophilanthropy Prize, Virginia Prize and Getty Editorial Grant).
