Léa Hennino


Born in 1991, Léa was admitted at a very young age to the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris. She was unanimously accepted at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris at the age of sixteen. She worked with Sabine Toutain and Christophe Gaugué and brilliantly completed her studies in June 2013. During an Erasmus exchange, Léa also studies with Nobuko Imai in Geneva and regularly participates in masterclasses with Tabea Zimmermann, Antoine Tamestit, Kim Kashkashian, Veronika Hagen. Since September 2014 Léa has been doing a soloist masterclass at the Zhdk in Zurich (Switzerland) in order to perfect her skills with the English violist Lawrence Power.

Enriched by these numerous encounters, Léa won the first prize and the SACEM prize at the European competition for young soloists in Luxembourg and became a laureate of the Meyer Foundation and the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe. She also won second prize at the national competition for young violists and third prize at the Wolfgang Marschner international competition in Germany.

Léa has been invited to play in France and abroad, notably at the Easter Festival in Aix-en-Provence, the Besançon Chamber Music Festival, the Groba Festival, the Saint-Paul de Vence Chamber Music Festival, the Moments Musicaux de la Baule, the Cordes-sur-ciel Festival, the Amsterdam Cello Biennale, the Easter and August Music Festival in Deauville, the EMCY Stars of Tomorrow Tour, the Landau Musiktage Festival, the Fränkische Musiktage Alzenau and the Norwegian Youth Chamber Music Festival. Recently she played the complete Mozart two viola quintets during a European tour with Renaud Capucon, Alina Ibragimova, Gérard Caussé and Clemens Hagen. She has also collaborated with the Modigliani Quartet, Francois Salque, Edgar Moreau, Boris Garlitsky, Nicholas Angelich, Gauthier Capuçon, Marco Rizzi, Pierre Fouchenneret, Torleif Thedéen.

In the near future, Léa will play with the ensemble Les Dissonances, the Balcon, at the Easter festival in Aix en Provence, at the Easter festival in Deauville, at the Rencontres Musicales d'Evian, at the Musique en Alvrey festival, at the Norvegian Youth Chamber Music Festival.

A disc dedicated to Mendelssohn recorded in 2014 in Deauville was released for the B Records label.
