Agathe Hennig

Guest of the 2018 Books & Music Festival

Agathe Hennig started to work as a graphic designer in the cosmetic packaging for six years, one of which spent in Montréal. Back to Paris, she had the opportunity to illustrate cooking books of starred chefs such as Alain Ducasse and Jaques Thorel (Hachette).

Her experience as artistic director allowed her to conceive the work of illustrator in another way, proposing complete and finished projects to the publishers; she created, illustrated and wrote a collection for Gallimard jeunesse titled "Le petit maraîcher" in 1998 (6 books).

In ‘99, she imagined and illustrated for Mango Jeunesse a collection about complexes: “Je suis comme ça”, written by Didier Dufresne (12 books), then a collection about moods “Ça dépend si” (6 books) for Hatier in 2000, then an astrological series titled “L'astro des petiots” (12 books) in 2001.

On the same year, she illustrated the collection titled “Les amis mots” (3 books) for Play bac-petit musc and, finally, in 2013 an album for Hachette about seasons: Promenons-nous dans les mois, then La planète dans l'assiette followed by La pâtisserie dans l’assiette, two cooking books published by Mango Jeunesse in 2004. In 2006, she created and illustrated the collection with 4 starred chefs for Agnès Vienot éditeur (4 books). In 2013 and 2014 she illustrated Pluche and S.O.S Doudou published by Éditions Gründ.

At the end of 2015, she created her small publishing house named “Ah!”, based in Trouville, with which she has published 9 books so far.
