Julien Hardy

Born in 1980 in Reims, France, where he began playing the bassoon with Jean-Francois Angelloz, Julien Hardy continued his musical studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Gilbert Audin. He then went to Basel to study with Sergio Azzolini.
Julien Hardy was a soloist with the Orchestre National de France at the age of nineteen and a prizewinner in the Toulon, IDRS and Munich international competitions. He plays regularly with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the ensemble Les Dissonances, and performs chamber music throughout the world.
He is currently principal bassoonist of the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra and professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon.
