Books & Music Festival

April 7th > 9th

The Literature Festival inspired by music. For its 14th edition, the Books & Music Festival invites francophone Creole literature: from the Caribbean islands to the Indian Ocean. Sixty events, ranging from improvisation and creation, are organized this year: readings, panel discussions, concerts, forums, and so on.

Easter Festival – 21st edition

April 15th > 30th

The Easter Festival has been celebrated in Deauville for more than twenty years. For the Easter Festival, about one hundred young instrumentalists can meet and create diverse ensembles, from trios to orchestras, to play chamber music and modern music. A fascinating program that joins three generations of performers.

“Poules d’essais” of colts and fillies

May 13th  > 14th

These two group-1 legendary competitions usually take place at the Longchamp racecourse, which is currently under renovation works. The “Poules d’Essai”, boasting the Group-1 label, the highest level for this competition, has been provided with 1 million Euros. They offer to the public the unique opportunity to see extraordinary horses ridden by the best flat jockeys.

Summer exhibition: André Hambourg, Light and shadow

May 20th > September 17th

For the first time since Deauville received a very significant donation of works made by André Hambourg, the municipality pays tribute to him organizing an exhibition at the Point de Vue. This journey through the works of André Hambourg leads us, at the rhythm of the artist’s journey and life, to several destinations represented by the artist. This collection, including about 70 oil on canvas, is an opportunity to see his works under an unexpected perspective.

Sailing: Cowes Deauville
May 26th & 27th
Following the footsteps of several yachtsmen who have been participating to international competitions in Deauville for over a century, we have been sailing every year for over 50 years between Cowes and Deauville.

Jump'in Deauville Grand National

June 1st > 4th

The Jump’in Deauville, fourth stage of the “Grand National” circuit proposed by the “Fédération Française d’Equitation” (FFE) and true springboard towards high-level competitions, will welcome at the International Equestrian Complex some of the best French horse riders.

Long distance, Olympic distance and initiation are three formats of this triathlon competition, suitable for all levels and ages. At least 3,500 participants in 2016: an extraordinary competition.

Let’s jump! Promising horse riders coming from about twenty different countries compete to become the world champions of tomorrow.

Horse race summer meeting

In July and August

Flat galloping, trotting, jumping: the best jockeys and horses meet every summer in Deauville for a meeting that includes about thirty days of horse races, organized in two racecourses, Deauville-La-Touques and Clairefontaine.

Sailing: Linkers Open international de France de Dragon
June 23rd > 26th
Sports keelboat for a three-person crew, the Dragon is fascinating for its elegant shape, but needs high-level technical competences.

July 20th > 23th
This two-, three-star and amateur international dressage contest gathers French and foreign riders as well as promising experts of this sport. You can admire a wide range of performances, following imposed patterns or just music.






Musical August Festival

July 29th > August 12th

Created in 2002 with the aim of discovering young soloists and playing even more music, the Musical August was launched as the studious and joyful antechamber to the Easter Festival. About fifteen young soloists play baroque music as academy and residence.

Deauville International Polo Cup

Barrière Deauville Polo Cup

August 1st > 27th

A prestigious tournament in France, hosting the leaders of the international polo, the famous 10-goal handicap players. 20 to 25 commented tournaments, with free access during the week, a village, 18 teams, 300 horses.

High-level participants are on track… The participation of about twenty countries and the presence of the great protagonists of this sport are the main ingredients of an announced success.

Yearling sale
August 19th > 21st
Countless are the stars of tracks that have been sold at auction in Deauville. This sale, the most prestigious of the year, invites many potential buyers coming from all over the world to appreciate the best of the French yearling production (from 6- to 18-month-old foals).

American Film Festival

September 1st > 10th

Essential event of the film back, with the presentation of more than 100 films, including an official competition dedicated to independent films. Tributes, documentaries, reviews, TV series and master classes are spicing a constantly evolving festival, open to the public.

Planche(s) Contact Photography Festival

October 21st > November 26th

Photographers are invited in residence with instructions to match their world and their photographic language with one of the facets of Deauville. On the same principle, some young European talents will compete to win the Planche(s) Contact Fondation Louis Roederer Prize.
