GOFFIN, HEADLINER OF THE OPEN DEAUVILLE TROUVILLE
On the occasion of the Deauville Trouville Open, June 13-16, 2018, David Goffin, a member of the world's top 10 (currently #10) and #7 in the world in November 2017, will come to prepare after the French Open on the natural grass courts of the Lawn Tennis Club Deauville Normandie and will try to win the third edition of the Open. The Belgian, 1st member of the top 10 to step on the grass courts of the Lawn Tennis Club, has recently distinguished himself by an incredible end of season 2017. He reached the final of the masters by beating Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, world No. 1 and No. 2. However, he lost in the Davis Cup final against France despite his two singles victories against Lucas Pouille and ... Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Among the other players of the tournament we will find a young retiree of the ATP circuit, Paul-Henri Mathieu (ex-world number 12), a player known for his combativeness on the tennis courts and his dantesque matches at Roland Garros. He will be accompanied by the regular of the Open and winner of the first edition, Edouard Roger-Vasselin (ex-world No. 35) who will try to recover his trophy. The last known player of this 2018 edition will be Michaël Llodra himself. Injured last year in the run-up to the tournament, he will finally be able to give spectators the benefit of his game based on the volleyed serve, always so effective on grass... 4 other players will complete this line-up and will be revealed as the tournament approaches.
