DEAUVILLE-LA TOUQUES RACECOURSE
There are two categories of gallop races: those with obstacles and those without, known as "Flat" races, the discipline in which the speed of thoroughbreds is expressed to the full. Deauville-La Touques is the racecourse where you'll see the most of them all year round. It's particularly renowned for its long straight races!
In 2003, Deauville-La Touques was the first racecourse in France to inaugurate a 2100m fibrous sand track, enabling it to organize races in winter, when the snow whitens the Normandy countryside, and to run morning training sessions all year round. It thus earns its nickname of "4 seasons" racecourse, with its program of some forty days of flat racing.
