Normandy Impressionist Nights: "Constellations
Opening night of the Nuits Normandie Impressionniste - "Constellations", Joanie Lemercier.
The Bassin du Roy will host on Thursday, August 25th the opening night of the Nuits Normandie Impressionniste. The opportunity to be transported, at nightfall, by "Constellations", the spectacular light installation of the digital artist Joanie Lemercier. Her work focuses on the projection of light in space and its influence on our perception.
With "Constellations", the artist expands the possibilities of light as a medium by using fine drops of water as support. The three-dimensional images thus created transport us to the center of a black hole and then through the cosmos, planets and stars, to the limits of the universe. Presented in the same city where Claude Monet painted "Impression, Sunrise", Joannie Lemercier's work follows a parallel approach to that of her illustrious elder: that of a modern approach to the use of light in collision with natural elements.
The 16-minute installation is presented every 30 minutes on Thursday, August 25, Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27, from 8:30 pm to 1 am.
Installation proposed in partnership with Le Tetris, during the Exhibit festival.
