Les Amis de l'église Saint-Laurent, which oversees the preservation and enhancement of the heritage of Deauville's ancient little church, welcome the Barbershop quartet, made up of tenors Philippe Tesson and Bernard Eustache, and Keith Ingram and Hervé Leforestier on bass.

Barbershop was born of the meeting of amateur singer friends and the discovery of the "Barbershop" repertoire.
Barbershop, or more accurately "Barbershop harmony", is a form of a cappella singing for four male voices, whose main characteristic is to be arranged in close harmony. The genre was inspired by the singing practices of the American South in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It originated in barbershops, which played an aggregative role in this community at the beginning of the 20th century: men regularly frequented these establishments for their social aspect, singing together the popular songs of the day, creating vocal harmonies around the main melody. The Barbershop style became an important part of the American musical landscape, with the appearance of numerous quartets.
