Sea festival

10:30 - 14:00

In Villerville, this tradition has been perpetuated since 1896. The city drapes its streets with fishing nets and celebrates the blessing of the sea in memory of the missing sailors and fishermen.

In the program :
The festivities begin at 10:30 am with a religious ceremony in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. The traditional musical parade follows through the streets of the village. Against the backdrop of bagpipes and in single file, the little Villervillais sailors are proud to carry around twenty model ships, loaned by the Société des Mariners de Honfleur, and to set sail for the sea. The procession this year will cross the streets Maréchal Foch, Général de Gaulle, Butin and Daubigny to arrive at the rue des Bains, for a blessing of the sea around 12:30. A cocktail will then be served from 13:15 p.m. If sanitary conditions allow it, it will be possible to have lunch in the tent that will be installed on the dike, while attending a concert of sea songs offered by the association Les Ecoutilles.
