Deauville - from May 3 to 5, 2019

FESTIVAL BOOKS & MUSIC
Every spring, the Deauville Books & Music Festival honors writers inspired by music. Dozens of authors and musicians animate this Festival on a different theme for each edition and offer a weekend of readings, meetings and shows for the most part unpublished.

In 2018 on the occasion of the anniversary of May 1968, the Festival questioned the existing links between literature, music and revolt movements.

AN IRISH WALK IN DEAUVILLE
In 2019, it is a country with a rich and eventful history, long torn apart by struggles ... to which the festival wishes to pay tribute:Ireland. Its inhabitants never cease to surprise us. Drunk nationalists from the open sea, they are survivors who cling to their land. They traveled, went into exile, emigrated and chose, to defend themselves against suffering and poverty, irony and humor.
Ireland and its infinite variety of colors, landscapes and breathtaking skies, its many fantastic poets and writers who invented stories (four Nobel Prizes in a century!)… Have shaped the Irish identity. From May 3 to 5, Books & Music will probe the Irish spirit, the traces of orality in the writings of today, the genius who makes Irish literature vibrate and will try to show, once again, the great power fiction.

ON THE TRACKS OF THE DRACULA LEGEND
Books & Music is also the first literary event for young Normans. The school day to be held on Friday May 3 will bring together nearly 5000 students who will represent 95 schools. For the occasion and for three days, Micro-Folie Deauville will operate an Irish mutation and place its Fablab, its creative and immersive spaces under the influence of Dracula, whose father was none other than the Irish author Bram Stoker ...
