In Villerville, this tradition has been perpetuated since 1896. The town drapes its streets with fishing nets and remembers the sailors and fishermen who have passed away. The festivities begin in the morning with the firing of a cannonball. This is followed by a religious ceremony in the church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, followed by the traditional procession with music through the streets of the town.
