Ouranos Ensemble

It is under the impulse of the clarinetist Amaury Viduvier that five young soloists from the Paris Conservatory gathered in 2014 to explore the exciting repertoire of the wind quintet. Driven by their desire to place their instrumental virtuosity - rewarded by numerous international prizes - at the service of ensemble playing, the members of the quintet quickly multiply high-flying artistic collaborations and offer a resolutely personal interpretation of the great classics of the repertoire.

In April 2017, the Ouranos ensemble won the 1st prize, the audience prize, the Bullukian Foundation prize, the internet users' prize at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition.

In parallel to its work as a quintet, the ensemble regularly gathers around its core some of the best wind instrumentalists of its generation to introduce the public to the great wealth of music for wind ensemble. Ensemble Ouranos has been in residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac since September 2014. Since then, it has been a special guest at the Easter and Musical August festivals in Deauville, where it collaborates with exceptional chamber musicians such as Renaud Capuçon, François Salque, Lise Berthaud, Nicholas Angelich, Bertrand Chamayou, Guillaume Vincent and the Hermes Quartet. Since its creation, the Ouranos ensemble has already performed at the Flâneries Musicales de Reims, the Escapades Musicales du bassin d'Arcachon, the Festival Debussy d'Argenton, the Festival de Pâques and the Août Musical de Deauville, the Fondation Polignac in Paris, the Théâtre d'Auxerre, the Festival Jeunes Talents de Loudun, the Festival du Prieuré de Chirens, the Musicales du Parc de Wesserling, and the Château de Saint-Ouen.
