Communal church
The church of Saint-Gatien-des-Bois is built on a square and has the shape of a Latin cross. Its construction dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries, and the choir was rebuilt in the middle of the 18th century.
On the outside, the facade is supported by six protruding buttresses and the main door, in a basket handle, is surrounded by prismatic moldings. Large arched windows with brick jambs light the nave.
Inside, a wainscoted vault dates from the 16th century, a wooden frame, decorated with very simple pendants, maintains this vault which has a slight curve. The stained glass windows in the choir date from the end of the 19th century, those in the nave date from the 1950s.
The stone statue of the Virgin and Child dates from the 16th century, other statues date from the 18th and 19th centuries: Saint Gilles, Saint Sebastian, a bishop and a wooden Christ.
Currently there are three bells weighing respectively 1100 kg, 770 kg and 550 kg. The clock on the bell tower was installed in 1978.
