D'ville
Filip Dujardin creates architectural fictions. After studying architecture, he chose to assert his Belgian cultural heritage, that of surrealists such as Paul Delvaux and Raoul Serveais... He assembles his shots of buildings into ingenious photomontages. The result seems straight out of a science-fiction film, with an improbable, offbeat edge. Starting with neutral, visually unattractive buildings, his strange, fascinating mikados are sometimes strangely disturbing.
In 2012, Deauville's architectural identity opened a new chapter in its imaginary architectures. His building puzzles seem to be an urban "re-construction", a new architecture that is neither entirely new, nor really déjà vu. Quite a tour de force for a new vision of Deauville, with a guaranteed surprise effect!
