Filip Dujardin creates architectural fictions. After studying architecture, he chose to claim his Belgian cultural heritage, that of the surrealists like Paul Delvaux or Raoul Serveais… He assembled his shots of buildings in ingenious photomontages. The result seems straight out of science fiction films, with an improbable and offbeat side. From neutral, visually unattractive buildings, his strange and fascinating mikados are sometimes strangely disturbing.

In 2012, the architectural identity of Deauville opened a new chapter in its imaginary architectures. His puzzles of buildings seem like an urban “re-construction”, a new architecture neither entirely new, nor really already seen. A great tour de force for a new vision of Deauville, with a guaranteed surprise effect!
