Filip Dujardin creates architectural fictions. After studying architecture, he chose to claim his Belgian cultural heritage, that of the surrealists like Paul Delvaux or Raoul Serveais… He assembled his shots of buildings in ingenious photomontages. The result seems straight out of science fiction films, with an improbable and offbeat side. From neutral, visually unattractive buildings, his strange and fascinating mikados are sometimes strangely disturbing.

In 2012, the architectural identity of Deauville opened a new chapter in its imaginary architectures. His building puzzles seem to be an urban “re-construction”, a new architecture that is neither entirely new nor really seen before. A great feat for a new vision of Deauville, with guaranteed surprise!
