Departure from the circuit "Le Hameau du Grand Bec"

14113 VILLERVILLE

1. Departure from the Villerville Tourist Information Office. Follow the Route du Littoral in the direction of Trouville-sur-Mer.

2. Take Chemin des Terrois, on the left, near the stadium and climb the hill for 800 meters.

3. At the intersection stay on Chemin des Terrois on the left then turn right onto Rue Lucien Coutaud.

4. Turn right onto Rue du Bas Couyère au Sémaphore. Continue straight ahead until the semaphore. The semaphore is a military property, it was built in 1910 and was occupied in 1940 by the Germans. It is now used as surveillance on the entire coast of the Seine Bay, from Ouistreham to the Pont de Normandie to monitor traffic going to Rouen.

5. Then turn right and take Chemin des Creuniers.

6. Continue on Chemin des Cotillets and Chemin de la Bruyère.

7. A few meters from the end of the path take Rue Moulière near the Manoir de Clairefontaine then cross the Route du Littoral to join Chemin des Moulières.

8. Continue straight ahead and take the staircase that leads to the heights of the cliffs and turn right. It is here, according to legend, that the fairy of Creuniers lodged which, to put an end to the misdeeds of the awful giant Rattir, chased him into the sea and, with a blow of magic wand, transformed him into a rock.

9. Walk along the Cliffs of Roches Noires then descend to the beach at Parc des Graves. You will cross the Park which offers 800 meters of pedestrian paths on the cliffs with an unobstructed view of the Villerville coastline. Sensitive Natural Space, it contains a rare variety of floristic spaces, vestiges of the pleasure garden of yesteryear.

10. Find the city center at the parking lot of the wash house.
