Discover the incredible biodiversity of the Pays d'Auge with Emmanuel Schmitt
In the heart of the Saint-Gatien-des-Bois forest, the Blonville-Villers marsh or at the foot of the Vaches Noires cliffs, Emmanuel Schmitt, passionate naturalist and president of the Pays d'Auge Nature and Conservation association, invites you to discover the local fauna and flora during nature walks that take place throughout the year in the heart of the territory.

After his BTS "Management and protection of nature", Emmanuel worked in sensitive natural areas before creating the association Pays d'Auge Nature and Conservation in 2011. His goal is to raise awareness and preserve biodiversity because nature is present throughout the Pays d'Auge. Emmanuel's favorite places are the forest of Saint-Gatien-des-Bois, the Touques marsh, the cliffs of the Vaches Noires and the marsh of Blonville-Villers. Each natural place is for him a playground on which he proposes about forty walks throughout the year.
Birds are Emmanuel's specialty, they have no more secrets for him! Grey herons, egrets and crested grebes, one of his favorite species, "their nuptial plumage makes them among the most elegant water birds", but also white storks! "These migratory birds are particularly present in the Blonville-Villers marsh in early spring and from mid-June to mid-October".
