Deauville Green Awards
Special prize from the City of Deauville
For its 12th edition, the festival celebrating creativity in green and responsible audiovisual communication is back at Les Franciscaines - Deauville. Each year, at the awards ceremony, the town of Deauville presents a special prize for the best documentary, advertising campaign or documentary committed to the energy transition.
This year's award went to the film "Pourquoi on se bat", directed by Camille Étienne and Solal Moisan. Guillaume Capard, First Deputy Mayor of Deauville, was on stage at the Deauville Green Awards to present the prize to young activist Camille Étienne.

Why we fight
Ecological youth in search of meaning
For this film, Camille Étienne teamed up with her two best friends, director Solal and dancer Jade. To raise public awareness of the climate emergency, they set off, camera in hand, to film the source of their commitment: melting ice. With sincerity, humor and determination, they invite us to reconsider our most deeply-held certainties, to celebrate and marvel at living things. A quest for ecological meaning in the form of a voyage of initiation to the roots of the fight against the environmental crisis caused by human activity.
Camille Étienne is a 23-year-old activist. She is one of the most influential media figures in the ecological struggle. She made a name for herself with a courageous and highly acclaimed speech at the MEDEF university in 2020.
