Charles de Senarclens
Young talent photographer of the festival Planche(s) Contact 2016

In Situ Tests
In 2010, Charles de Senarclens enrolled in Photography in order to obtain the Federal Certificate of Proficiency (CFC), at the CEPV in Vevey. It is there that he discovers, from the first weeks, the simplicity of the conception and the manufacturing of the pinhole camera and it is that which led him to build digital large format cameras. In 2013, wishing to deepen his studies, he continues in the Superior Photography Training, also at the CEPV until 2015. He uses digital cameras that he builds himself. These are large chambers mainly made of wood, in which he places scans of documents modified to capture the image. By mixing this modern technology with an ancient technique, he seeks both to reproduce a photographic gesture of yesteryear and to produce images that offer a new look at my subjects.
The project realized for the Festival Planche(s) Contact is a selection of results of different experiments realized along the beach of Deauville, between its famous boards and the sea.
