Caroline de Kergariou

Guest of the 2018 Books & Music Festival

Caroline de Kergariou, born in Brittany, followed mathematics studies. But she rapidly left her teaching career to focus on writing from several perspectives: TV scenario, theatre, radio. The historical fictions she wrote for France Inter turned her into a “wild” historian and led her to publish a book titled No Future, une histoire du punk, published in 2017 by Éditions Perrin. This book is about the 45-year-long international history of punk, dealt with in musical, philosophical, political and aesthetic terms. Through this book, she returned to the tumultuous punk rock roots of her youth, when her love for punk led her to publish her first books and articles, released in several rock magazines.
