Louis-Philippe Dalembert

Louis-Philippe Dalembert was born in Port-au-Prince and lives in Paris. He has published since 1993 with various publishers, in France and in Haiti, news (with the Serpent à plumes editions from 1993: The Dream of a Childhood Photo), poetry, essays (at Philippe Rey / Culturesfrance in 2010, with Lyonel Trouillot: Haiti, a literary crossing) and novels (the most recent, published by Mercure de France: Black wounds and in 2011 Ballad of an unfinished love in 2013). Visiting professor at various American universities, he was a resident of the Villa Medici (1994-1995), writer-in-residence in Jerusalem and Berlin, and has won numerous awards including the RFO prize in 1999, the Casa de las Américas prize in 2008 and the Thyde Monnier award from SGDL in 2013.
