Alizé Cornet

Alizé Cornet was born in 1990 in Nice. In 2004, he obtained the title of French champion (category 13-14) and, in 2005, the title of European champion (category 15-16). She received an invitation for Roland Garros when she was 15 and gained his first tour, even though she was the youngest player of the tournament. She lost against Amélie Mauresmo, her idol. In 2008, she gained her first WTA title in Budapest and reached the final of the Rome tournament, integrating for the first time the top 20. She obtained the best ranking of her career in 2011, mainly due to her first final eight at the Grand Chelem in Australia. She won her 2nd WTA title in 2012 in Bad Gastein, then her 3rd on the following year in Strasbourg. In 2014, she won the Hopman Cup with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga la! It was the first time for France. She became the French champion for her good results in tournaments (final eight in Wimbledon, finalist in Dubai...) defeating for three times Serena Williams, the n.1 in the world at the time. On the following years, she reached twice the final eight of the Roland Garros (2015 and 2017) and won two more ATP tournaments (Katowice in 2014 and Hobart in 2016)
