Chez Manou, between authenticity and modernity
On the small Place du Bouloir, in Villerville, before rushing to the beach of this pretty village, enter "Chez Manou" and sit down for a snack or an aperitif board.
Julie, luminous owner of the place, invites passers-by to discover her story in the shop.
Her grandmother, Manou, from Deauville, taught her cooking, the art of living, and the taste of good market produce. A spirit that Manou perpetuates and stages with things that belonged to him: chairs, armchairs, photos, recipes tell the family story.

Gourmet interview
"Chez Manou", who is it? Julie, D.born in the eauville region, formerly in events within the Barrière group.
As for many, the confinement plunged her into a period of questioning. She wants fewer digital contacts, more proximity, leaving Deauville and staying in the territory dear to her heart.
Her desire is taking shape: it will be a small business and Villerville was obvious to this woman who loves contact, relationships and above all the region. Indeed, she only has to take her morning coffee on her terrace for every passer-by to greet her warmly.
His goal in Villerville? Julie wants to bring her stone to the spirit of this pretty seaside village.
How does she see her business? In two distinct parts:
- A grocery store of local products, for the most part, the rest entirely produced in France. She wants to bring a variety of products: buckwheat pancakes from Brittany, olive oil from the South of France...
- A bar, where you sit down to enjoy a plate. Are offered, sausage, fish terrines, fresh cheese, but also cakes, mostly homemade. An atmosphere "like at home".
His crush? In seasoned Normandy, his favorite is the "Arranged Calvados"*, which can be enjoyed in cocktails, as a digestive, or even in a recipe, in a cake. She also has a particular attachment to joyful postcards reminiscent of holidays by the sea. Why not a special Villerville card?
