WORKS OF ART FROM THE 19th AND 20th CENTURIES

The collection essentially covers the 20th century, in the field of figurative painting. It focuses on the Ecole de Paris in its three main periods (after the First World War, before and after the Second World War) at a time when the Parisian museum dedicated to it was forced to close its doors at the end of 2016. This important pictorial movement is no longer permanently presented in public collections.
Recently, the City acquired a painting by Eugène Boudin (entrance to Deauville, avenue de la République), a beautiful portrait of Suzy Solidor, a great showgirl and friend of Foujita by Moïse Kisling, a superb cameo of pink by Marie Laurencin, and a watercolor by Raoul Dufy (Haras du Pin in connection with the horse world).
