Erected in 1912, the sumptuous setting of the Casino Barrière Deauville is in itself worth the detour between its imposing and elegant facade, its large terrace below the central porch with its sea view, the monumental double flight staircase in the entrance, the interior spaces punctuated by Corinthian pilasters, adorned with painted frescoes and embellished with sparkling chandeliers.

A first small casino opened when Deauville was created in 1864, about fifty meters from the current casino. The fall of the Second Empire and the provisional desertion of Deauville finally led to its demolition in 1895. The idea of a new casino was relaunched at the beginning of the XNUMXth century by Eugène Cornuché, creator of the Parisian restaurant "Chez Maxim's", and the mayor Désiré Le Hoc. The plans are entrusted to the architect George Wybo, who was inspired by the Grand Trianon of the Palace of Versailles.
