Cannes-Mandelieu Old Course

Founded in Mandelieu in 1 891 by Grand Duke Michael of Russia, the Old Course is the oldest golf course on the Côte d’Azur. On its level fairways shaded by umbrella pines, near the sea, every moment feels like a privilege, whether you play the 18-hole Old Course or the 9-hole Grand Duc. Golfers particularly enjoy taking the boat across the Siagne river to go from one part of the course to the other. To top it off, the magnificent Normandy-style clubhouse is always ready and waiting to welcome them for lunch.

Royal Mougins Golf Resort

The Royal Mougins Golf Resort is a private course just 10 minutes from Cannes. From 1995 to 1998 it hosted the Cannes Open, one leg of the European professional tour. French golfer Thomas Levet is among those who have triumphed here. In a stunning natural setting with no fewer than eight lakes linked by streams and waterfalls, its 18 holes are varied and technically challenging. The on-site Royal Mougins hotel is a refined haven of peace providing access to the driving range and the sumptuous Royal Spa.

Riviera Golf de Barbossi

This golf course sculpted like a work of art is one of the finest golf courses on the Côte d’Azur. An oasis of tranquillity at the doorsteps of Cannes and Mandelieu, the course stretches along the foot of the Estérel Massif, between cork oaks, umbrella pines and the gentle flow of the Riou  de l’Argentière River. A golf practice area of 15 places (9 covered, 3 compact holes and a putting green) complete the golf course.

Golf Country Club de Cannes-Mougins

This first-class 18-hole golf course with a driving range is tucked away in the Valmasque forest near Mougins. It’s protected by woods, intersected by a river and has a number of water hazards. For 14 years, the Club hosted the Cannes Open professional tournament. Among others, Greg Norman, Severiano Ballesteros and Ian Woosnam have triumphed here. In 2010 & 2011, it was home to one leg of the European Senior Tour, the Cannes Mougins Masters, when other golfing legends uphold its réputation for excellence.

Golf-Club de Saint-Donat

In Riviera golfing’s “golden square” near Grasse, Saint-Donat offers skilled players a demanding course to pit their wits against and thrills them  with the beauty of its holes, some of which are literally vertiginous. Opened in 1993, it was designed by Robert Trent Jones Junior, who skilfully integrated it into the relief of a lovely landscape providing natural protection. Its 18-hole course and compact 9-hole one fulfil all golfers’ expectations.

Golf de la Grande Bastide

This golf course at Châteauneuf, near Grasse, has stunning panoramic views of this picturesque village and Opio. The 18-hole course, opened in 1990, boasts a bold modern design offering broad fairways and greens well protected by numerous bunkers and water hazards. Depending on which tee you start from, it offers plenty of challenges for experienced players but is also suitable for beginners.

Golf d'Opio-Valbonne

This golf course created in Opio in 1966 is laid out in the middle of 220 ha of beautiful, natural grounds and is packed with history, even having  a Gallo-Roman aqueduct to prove it ! The 18-hole course is technically demanding and pleasingly undulating, winding through a typically Mediterranean landscape. Streams alongside the fairways and big old trees make it refreshingly cool on hot summer days. The on-site 4-star Château  de la Bégude hotel, in an extensively renovated 17th-century bastide, invites you to prolong the pleasure for a few nights or longer.

Terre Blanche Hôtel Spa Golf Resort

Terre Blanche, at Fayence in the Var at 35 minutes from Cannes, gives experienced golfers an opportunity to tackle some really tough challenges.
