Davide Cali grew up in Italy where he began his career as a cartoonist and scriptwriter: he collaborated with several fanzines and worked for the Italian monthly Linus of 1994 2008 to.

He started writing children's books in 1998. His first titles were published in Italy, however, since 2004 the majority of his books have been published in France, in particular for Éditions Sarbacane, and his children's comics appear on the magazine My first I like to read (Bayard Éditions).

In 2013, he published more than 60 books, translated in more than 30 countries; under the pseudonym of Taro Miyazawa in 2009, he wrote First day of class, illustrated by Nodar (Arnaud Boutin) and under the pen name of Daikon he published on the blog "la vie hors du Paradis" the series Adam (& Eve): Life Outside Heaven, with drawings by Bob (Robert Yannick), appeared in magazines The Savannah echo (2009) et Glacial Fluid (2013).

His illustrated albums The Enemy et I am waiting have been adapted for children's theater by different companies in France and Belgium.

He publishes three albums in Helium Publishing, in collaboration with illustrator Benjamin Chaud: I didn't do my homework because ... (2014) I'm late for school because ... (2015) The truth about my incredible vacation (2016).
