Catherine Boissel is a research engineer and works at the University of Caen. Under the name of Catherine Sevestre-Loquet, she has written medieval thrillers. Her latest novels, in which horses play an important role, tell the story of a family's tumultuous destiny, from the Great War to the 1930s. Cheval Magazine chose Les portes du bonheur as its favorite in 2017. The "Reine Mathilde" prize was awarded to La chanson de Julien in 2019.
