GERARD BLAIN
Actor, director

The favorite actor of the New Wave, becomes director in 1970. Les Amis, his first feature film. From Paris to Deauville, between the Normandy Hotel, the new Olympic swimming pool, the tennis courts and Ciro's, Gérard Blain (1930-2000) tactfully films the friendship of a mature man for a young boy of modest origin. The film was one of the three films in the official French selection at the 1971 Cannes Film Festival and was awarded the Golden Leopard at the 1972 Locarno Festival.
