Guest photographer at Planche(s) Contact in 2019

Born in Paris in 1964, Carole Bellaïche started to take photos when she was 13. Her first series was noticed by Dominique Issermann in 1978. She encouraged her and introduced actors to her to help her make a book. Carole Bellaïche started to work as a photographer at the age of 17.
She is a portraitist passionate about cinema: actors, actresses and film directors are her favourite models. She not only works on commitment, but focuses on personal projects about travelling, explore the places she likes, creates settings with objects or characters, sounds out intimacy.
Widely solicited by magazines, she also worked at the Cahiers du Cinéma for about 15 years. Her photographs are often exhibited at the Mois de la Photo in Paris and in galleries.

Carole Bellaïche has chosen as subject the market of Deauville. She combines black-and-white and colours; analogue and digital cameras; portraits and still life. She started with the portraits of producers on the market square, then decided to remain with these people and better know the places where they live and cultivate their products.
