Becquemin & Sagot

Artistic duo

Guests of the 2021 L'Appel du Large festival

Emmanuelle Becquemin and Stéphanie Sagot form an artistic duo that plays with the codes of cinema, performance, design and contemporary art to develop a long-lasting scenario in which they are the actresses and heroines. Strolling along a thin thread situated between reality and fiction, they present themselves in the guise and costumes of Siamese sisters: a replicated and multipliable woman. A standardized woman, a modern and stereotypical model, who becomes the character of a highly critical plot. The two artists set the scene, carefully choose the costumes and accessories, obviously identical. They shape the objects and tools that will participate in the unfolding of the story.

They notably presented their work in France (Palais de Tokyo, Hôtel de la Monnaie in Paris, CRAC de Sète, MRAC de Sérignan, Fondation Ricard in Paris, MO.CO in Montpellier) and abroad (Musée de l 'Elysée in Lausanne, Museum of Decorative Arts in Frankfurt, Laune Galery in Tokyo…).

As part of the L'Appel du Large festival which will take place from July 2 to 4, 2021, a performed work by Becquemin & Sagot is scheduled. More information on L'Appel du Large here.
