A teacher, globetrotter and journalist, Cécile Balavoine worked for ten years in the United States, at Columbia University and New York University. She holds a doctorate in French literature and a master's degree in German. She is a lecturer in Parisian branches of American universities and also writes for various magazines on travel and culture.
His novel Maestro is shortlisted for the 2018 Books & Music Prize.
