Philippe Augier created the cultural affairs department of Deauville town hall in 1995, when he was deputy to Anne d'Ornano. After becoming Mayor in 2001, Philippe Augier developed Deauville's festivals and cultural projects. A lover and collector of art, particularly photography, in 2010 he conceived and created the Planches Contact Deauville festival of photographic creation and its concept of La 25e heure.
