Saint-Pierre-Azif, 10 minutes from Deauville, is the "village in the heart of the stud farms". But this day will also make you discover the small villages of the Pays d'Auge off the beaten track.
The church of Saint-Pierre-Azif is our starting point, with its 12th century Lombard tower. The building is classified as a historical monument. The profile of the ground is a little hilly but without real difficulty for the crew. Then we quietly go to the village hall, a beautiful pink brick building, a few steps away from the church. On the left, we can admire a very nice landscape on the green and hilly countryside and see Pont-l'Evêque in the distance.
We allow ourselves a light trot because the small road is clear and flat. The passengers of the carriage are as delighted as our two nice horses!
We leave Saint-Pierre-Azif to continue to discover the charming neighboring villages: Glanville, Bourgeauville, Vauville. Wooded and bucolic paths offer us their generous shade; half-timbered properties are to be admired quietly to the rhythm of Get Money Maybe and Esprit de Bel Verne.
A picnic break around 12:00 is, of course, planned.
