Deauville - From October 23 to January 2, 2022

Festival planches contact
Deauville Photography Festival.

Planches Contact is a unique photography festival based on the principle of public commission. The photographers invited in residence in Deauville put their universe in correspondence with the city and then exhibit their work from October to January. For the past two years, Planches Contact has opened up to all of Normandy, offering guest photographers the opportunity to explore the region, beyond the city, coast, countryside or urban agglomerations.

In just a few years, the event has become a real laboratory for observing the territory through images.

Already constitutive of the festival's DNA, outdoor exhibitions are privileged and thus offer all eyes a glimpse of the complexity and richness of the contemporary photographic scene.

Four components structure the programming:

- Monographic exhibitions by renowned photographers
- The young talents springboard, section reserved for a selection of four to five photographers competing to win the Planches Contact award
- The competition of the 25e Longines time
- Photo4Food is associated with the Festival and finances four artist residencies.

Joel Meyerowitz's Beach Exhibition

In 2020, a year marked by Brexit, Planches Contact wanted to give a nod to England with iconic photographs by Martin Parr and by dedicating an exhibition to him for the first time in Deauville. This year the festival takes you to the American coast, dedicating its major beach exhibit to Joel Meyerowitz, and his iconic images of Cape Cod.

They will be at the Planches Contact 2021 festival
