From December 18 to January 2, inDeauville is full of equestrian events and activities with horses. On the program, visits to stud farms, night-time horse races, family riding lessons, and exclusively, a behind-the-scenes discovery of the Deauville-La Touques racecourse and the Pôle International du Cheval Longines - Deauville.

Live an immersion ...

at the Longines International Horse Center - Deauville

Only during the Christmas holidays, the general public pushes the doors of its facilities to discover the daily life of professionals of the equestrian world: entering the stables, following a horse's preparation before training and even riding a pony, the world of equestrianism is explained from A to Z. Franck Le Mestre, director, presents the large arena, boarding horses and their food, but also the Académie Delaveau. After the theory, the practice: to end this morning, the children are expected by Quiri, Noisette or Vanille, the ponies of the riding club, for a baptism in the company of their parents.

in a horse-drawn carriage in the Auge countryside

More fun and unusual, a carriage pulled by the Get Money Maybe and Esprit de Bel Verne horses awaits young and old to travel through the authentic village of Saint-Pierre-Azif, its surroundings and its wooded paths. To try the time of a 1h30 walk or a day with a picnic basket garnished with local products.

At the Deauville-La Touques racecourse, the winter meeting is in full swing with 27 flat races on the program. An opportunity for the racetrack to organize guided tours free of charge from its facilities and open places exclusively reserved for professionals to the public. From the presentation round to the stables, through the scales for weighing jockeys, visitors dive into the unsuspected world of horse racing.

of Haras d'Ecajeul

Its doors only open a few times a year. Haras d'Ecajeul has been the cradle of English thoroughbreds for over 70 years. Jean-Luc and Isabelle Bara, happy owners, welcome the public for a commented visit through the stables, the meadow, the loin ring and share their most beautiful method of breaking in: the whisperer method. And to end the visit, it's time for a local snack.

Learn horse riding with your family at the Pôle International du Cheval Longines - Deauville

From 2 years old, children get to know horses and take their first steps as apprentice riders during a pony baptism, accompanied by their parents. And because riding in the saddle can cause apprehension among non-equitants, room for introduction to horse riding with the family, which takes place entirely on foot. For an hour, parents and children benefit from a riding instructor for themselves and learn to approach, prepare, stroke, turn the horse and even succeed in small challenges. The most initiated choose a riding lessons, where small and large riders share their passion for the horse without moderation, or more unusual, a initiation to polo !
