Playing golf provides a feeling of calm, escape and well-being, which is more inDeauville! Four golf courses and their panoramas dominating the sea and Normandy lands, eleven exceptional courses within a radius of 20 km to play at sunrise as well as at sunset, lessons suitable for everyone – even children… Here are the 5 reasons why fans of the little white ball and amateurs wishing to tame the grassy grass of the fairways to come swing inDeauville.

1. Stunning panoramic views overlooking the sea, forest and countryside

The Côte Fleurie is famous for the beautiful endless golden sand beaches, the half-timbered villas that border the sea and the surrounding Auger countryside. A winning hat-trick that you can enjoy from the fairways of the four golf courses inDeauville !

Au Golf Barriere Deauville, ranked among the 20 most beautiful courses in France, the great perspectives of the two courses overlook the wooded lands, the sea and the cities of Deauville and Trouville-sur-Mer. Pushing further, the iodized atmosphere turns into a bucolic atmosphere and finds all its splendor in the Barrier Saint-Julien Golf, renowned for its typically Norman environment dotted with apple trees in blossom, hedgerows and ponds. On the edge of the Forest of Saint-Gatien-des-Bois, Golf Deauville Saint-Gatien alternates wooded park and breathtaking view of the Seine estuary, when the boats sparkle at the gates of Le Havre. More recent and modern, theAdmiralty Golf merges perfectly with the mansions and stud farms of the hinterland, offering a sumptuous 360° horizon over the Touques valley.

2. Academies to learn while having fun

This is also golf inDeauville: opportunities to learn on your own for a 60-minute stopwatch, an intensive course or as a family with a coach!

Because it was founded by a family of "non-golfers", the Golf of Deauville Saint-Gatien has made courses for beginners, and especially for children, its trademark. Named NextGen Golf School, its golf school welcomes the youngest from 5 years old to 16 years old, with an adapted training structure, qualified coaches to supervise, dedicated courses to have fun. Further, the training center Golf Academy includes individual golf lessons, a program of group lessons all year round, internships... But for a simple trial, theNextGen discovery offer offers an hour of initiation valid alone, as a duo… or as a family!

In 2019, the Barrière golf courses in Deauville and Pont-L'Evêque have set up in the heart of their estate theBarrière Golf Academy, a place specially dedicated to high-level education. In order to pass on the passion for golf to the youngest, school holidays are dedicated to Junior Camps, centered on power and fun games. The golf offer does not stop there and also includes initiations, private lessons, performance lessons... In short, a variety of formulas for all levels and all ages.

3. Courses accessible to all levels

The main advantage of inDeauville golf courses? Their ability to accommodate all types of audiences, from beginners to the biggest fans of the little white ball. Acclaimed by novices, the Barrier Saint-Julien Golf offers its two courses to easily discover the joys of the game: The valley (18 holes, 6035m) is relatively easy on the way with plenty of birdie opportunities for the more experienced, and The Bocage (9 holes, 2258 m), with very few roughs, which is ideal for beginners, intermediate level players as well as golfers who wish to practice.

Equipped with around thirty monumental sculptures that scrutinize the swings and dazzle the eyes of golfers, the Arts course (18 holes – 6089 m) of theAdmiralty Golf requires rigor and precision to succeed in his ace. Conversely, the Course of the ponds (9 holes – 1982 m), more compact, is ideal for beginners.

On the other hand, seemingly simple, the two courses du Golf Barriere Deauville (Diane Barriere - 18 holes, 5951 m and Lucien Barrière - 9 holes, 3038 m) multiply the difficulties with the presence of obstacles such as roughs, bunkers, but also the speed of the greens and the force of the wind. Same requirement for Golf of Deauville Saint-Gatien et The sheepfold, the most demanding 9-hole course (3198 m), which requires mastering a wide variety of shots. Our advice: keep your concentration to avoid the flower beds and roughs, always meticulously placed to deceive the players.

4. Clubhouses to meet

What would golf courses be without their essential clubhouses? Place of conviviality, exchanges and gathering anchored in the life of golfers in the same way as the courses, it is here, in the heart of the main building, that the 19th hole is celebrated, between two sports sessions. The nineteenth hole is to golf what the third half is to rugby; the relaxed meeting place for athletes, after a day spent in the open air, where you can meet and talk over a drink, where you can warm up in winter, where you eat with a view of the greens and where you stock up on balls or let yourself be seduced by a polo shirt from the pro-shop.

Cozy and luxurious atmosphere at the Golf Barriere Deauville which makes you want to relax in the XXL armchairs and benches. Like the blossoming white apple trees facing the bay windows of the Barrier Saint-Julien Golf, its clubhouse is a source of serenity with its white shades, its imposing stone fireplace and its generous cuisine. Charm of the interior beams and exterior half-timbering give the clubhouse the Golf of Deauville Saint-Gatien a traditional spirit and natural warmth conducive to conviviality. The clubhouse of theAdmiralty Golf took its roots in the vast buildings of a Norman stud farm. Its large bay windows offer a panoramic view of the course and the Touques valley.

5. The only light trail in Europe

When the darkness of the night sets in, at the time when the clubs line up, the golf carts take shelter and the car parks empty, a course lights up. And it lives up to its name: Course of the Stars, great pride ofAdmiralty Golf, where the experience of a night swing is breathtaking. The visual atmosphere is totally different, the sounds carry far, the holes are perfectly lit. More relaxed than golf in the middle of the day, it will of course be difficult to make a perfect course. The main thing is to leave with a fun memory!
