24HRS FOR THE OCEAN
A day to educate the general public about protecting the oceans and the coast

24 HOURS FOR OCEANS IN DEAUVILLE
Since July 2017, the association Time for the Ocean aims to alert and educate the general public about the urgency to mobilize against the pollution of the oceans due to plastic waste.
Covering more than 70% of the earth's surface, the ocean is home to most of the as yet unexplored biosphere. A carbon pump and oxygen producer, the ocean and the organisms it contains play a key role in regulating the earth's climate, while being increasingly affected by global change.

SPEND 24 HOURS ON OCEANS: A SINGLE DAY FOR A VITAL ISSUE
Artists, scientists, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, personalities are committed to safeguarding the ocean and come together to support this fundamental cause:
• By the impact of the image: with a photo exhibition in partnership with the Photojournalism Prize of the Carmignac Foundation on the promenade Lucien Barrière, an artistic creation with the painter Fabrice Hyber and an installation by the artist Chiara Lei,
• By projections: with the artistic documentary "Sea Art" and the film on plastic from the TARA foundation,
• By the power of the verb: with a conference "Plastic pollution: challenges and solutions" to democratize the scientific word through debates and meetings,
• By raising awareness: with a pickup on Deauville beach.

UNDERWATER CONCERT "IN THE DREAM OF THE WHALES"
Immerse yourself in the whales' dream with the first underwater concert in the Deauville Pool. The concert will mix sperm whale sounds and humpback whale songs, captured and then reproduced by Michel Redolfi via innovative technologies. Jean-Marc BARR, immersed in the center of the audience, will guide the initiation with shamanic and contemporary texts, inviting to renew the ancestral dialogue with our oceanic peers.
