Normandy - from July 15th to August 20th, 2017

When books join the stage: shows, readings-concerts, meal-shows, literary brunches, encounters with the authors, films, workshops, writing contests, exhibitions, walks-conferences... about 90 meetings to enjoy throughout summer.

This year, the festival gathers more than one hundred authors and artists in about fifty different places of twenty cities and villages. Over 80 meetings to enjoy together the freedom of thinking, imagining, travelling, loving, laughing…, combining encounters, musical readings, workshops for everybody, through the new artistic offer of the territory. The Festival invites you to discover a flourishing program with remarkable personalities and young talents, including meetings for children and teenagers, high points dedicated to Octave Mirbeau, several events taking place in remarkable places of our heritage to discover under different perspectives.

16th edition about "Freedom"
A word, one only word, with countless echoes, crossing history and countries. Yesterday and today, multiple fights to defend human rights and freedom: of expression, conscience, action, creation. Independent, rebellious, creative voices opening the way, just claiming real life.

A writing contest in collaboration with the multimedia libraries of the Region
Open letter to... Ma liberté, longtemps je t’ai gardée (My freedom, For a long time I've kept you) are the first lines of a song by Georges Moustaki, but also the theme of the writing contest organized from July 1st to August 10th in collaboration with several libraries and multimedia libraries of the region. An award ceremony will take place on August 19th at 11 am at the Prévert multimedia library of Dives sur Mer. To participate, submit your text to the Biblio'tech.
